High-Pressured Solar Water Heaters

1.The copper coil exchanger type:

This type of SWH provides mains pressure via a high effective copper coil heat exchanger (40 meters long) located in the tank, it works as a cloose loop system.Heat exchanger inside the tank which provides more than 1.5 M2 of heat transfer area. People connect main pressure water tap on inlet of copper coil, when open the outlet valve, water flows through the coil it absorbs heat from the water inside the solar collector tank. The solar collector tank is therefore a thermal store. When people turn on the tap, there is immediately hot water and the water is so clean because people use the water directly from the tap, not from the tank.

One advantage of this system is that people do not need to feed in cold water into tank regularly, so corrosion and scale buildup are almost totally eliminated. Tanks are designed for none pressure system using gravity to flow out water. The way its collector heats the water in the tank is the same as the common none pressured one. It works as an open flow system.

A circulation pump is not normally required.

The only reason you would need a pump is if:
1. The mains cold head pressure is insufficient for the cold water to reach the solar water heater or feed tank, a small pump controlled by a water level switch in the feed tank can solve the problem.
2. The height from the solar water heater to the hot water tap is not enough to provide pressure hot water. In this case a small pressure pump with built in flow switch on the hot line would provide higher pressure hot water(may need a thermostatic mixing valve prior to pump as some pumps cannot handle temperatures above 60。C).
